Testosterone For Your Bones
Testosterone For Your Bones
Hey this is Nathan Hopkins with another episode of Testosterone TV. I came across something scary today that I definitely thought was worth sharing with you. As you know, I am a big believer and feel that it is very important for guys to maintain a healthy level of testosterone. Not only is it physiologically important for your health, but also just so you are not a wuss just getting pushed around. You may think I am kidding, but I am dead serious.
There is a guy out there whose name is Dr. Randy Thornhill, and I quote, The higher testosterone seen in winners prepares them for the difficulties of being dominant, and losers, the lowering of testosterone gets them out of the fray and lets them wait for better social circumstances to try being dominant again.
Now ask yourself, which guy do you want to be? Back to my original point about something that I came across thats pretty dang scary: it has to do with somethingmost people actually believe it is deadlier for women, but the inverse is actually true.
What I want to talk about is age-proofing your bones. This is true: more men than women die from osteoporosis. I know we see it on TV and all these supplements for women who need to take calcium, yada, yada, yada, but the Canadian Medical Association Journal did a review that there were researchers who reviewed more than a dozen studies and concluded that one in eight men will develop this bone-thinning syndrome.
Those who have it are about 40 percent more likely than women that have this to die from fracture complications. You can see here that I have this picture of this bone that has been fractured. This is serious. Men with low testosterone are more prone to bone loss. That is from Aliya Khan, MD, also a doctor.
Now you may want to go have your testosterone tested or not. I think definitely at some point every guy should do it. One quick way to actually increase your testosterone is to sleep more. I know in this day and age it is very socially acceptable for guys, for all of us to keep pushing harder and harder and harder at work, like not sleeping. Weve got lots of responsibilities. I really encourage you to try at least to get seven hours of sleep at night.
Also, resistance training: it is literally like getting a steroid shot right in the butt. All you have to do is work out with weights, or resistance bands, or even body weight training which is one of the reasons why I created the training program that I have, the 3X Method. If you havent checked it out, you can see it at 3XMethod.com.
That is about it, guys. I just wanted to share that with you. It is something that scared me; thought it was interesting. Stay tuned for more Testosterone Television. If you havent subscribed for this so you can get them when I get them out, go over to YouTube. You can find me by typing 3X Method in there and subscribe to that channel, or you can find me at 3XMethod.com, sign up for my list, and you will get these on a regular basis. I usually try to do about two a week.
Thanks, and I look forward to seeing you on the site.
